On 12 December, 2024 Foreign-funded Enterprises Friendship Exchange Conference of Changshu City was held. Tang Xiaodong, member of the Standing Committee of Suzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and vice mayor of Suzhou Municipal People's Government, attended the conference. The event commended 45 foreign-funded and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-funded enterprises in Changshu that have made outstanding contributions to the city’s economic development.
Yu Wei, Party Secretary of Changshu Municipal Committee of the CPC, delivered a speech. On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Yu Wei sent his best wishes to the guests attending the conference, and expressed his sincere gratitude to the commended foreign-funded enterprises as well as the foreign friends who took root and invested in Changshu.
Foreign-funded enterprises are an important part of Changshu's high-quality economic development. Since 1993, when the first large-scale wholly foreign-owned enterprise, Sharp, was established, Changshu has gathered nearly 1,100 foreign-funded enterprises from more than 60 countries around the world, with a cumulative total investment of more than 53 billion U.S. dollars.
